Growing up, homeownership often seemed like something reserved for White families, Asian families, or “other communities.” For many of us, renting wasn’t just a choice — it was the norm, the expectation, and the only model we ever saw. I truly believed I would be a renter forever… until the day God opened a door I never imagined I’d walk through.
This isn’t an episode telling you to go buy a house or pushing the narrative that ownership is automatically superior. Instead, I’m sharing my story — the realities of renting, the realities of owning, the pros and cons of each, and the truth that your choice should align with your lifestyle, finances, and peace of mind.
No shame. No pressure. Just real talk about options, access, and the shifts happening in our community as we redefine what stability, legacy, and home look like for us.

Gratitude in Real Time | Family Day Reflections + Life Updates

This episode is personal in the best way.I merged two recordings — one from Family Day (aka Thanksgiving for everybody else 😅) and one I recorded today — and together they tell a story about gratitude, legacy, family, and remembering what really matters.
On Family Day, I walked around my home capturing my children sharing what they were thankful for. Watching them cook, grow, and build their own lives genuinely filled me with pride. Seeing the family that I created — not the one I was born into, but the one that came from me — reminded me how far God has brought me.
And today, I sat down and shared my own reflections.The gratitude.The grief.The healing.The moments I almost didn’t make it through.The silver linings that carried me.The blessing of still being here — in my right mind, with breath in my body, and with all my senses and mobility.
This episode is your reminder that gratitude isn’t seasonal. It’s a lifestyle — a daily posture.
